Summer Nights &
Security Lights
Seasons In The Hollow #3
August 2026
Turns out that this town does provide me with a place to belong…
…to be safe and protected.

Summer settles across town, and for once, Ryan Owens can’t find it in himself to bask in it. Feeling like an outsider to his friends and adrift in the town he gives so much to, he resolves himself to a summer fighting for more than just himself. This year, there is more to the festivities than aesthetics and warm evenings. With the preparations for the carnival in full swing and the drive-in cinema in the works, he can’t afford any distractions. Especially now that there is so much to prove, so much to protect.
If there’s one thing in life that Nathan Garreth is certain of it’s how to take care of the nature reserve in the town he reluctantly calls home. His life doesn’t need anything other than his farmhouse, his gentle-natured dog Molly, and the fauna he plans to protect for as long as he’s able. The last thing he needs is for it to be disturbed by an overly organized, cheery planner who thinks he’s entitled to use part of the land for his own gain.
When the plans for the cinema get derailed, Ryan finds himself fighting for more than just the event. Nathan unwillingly finds himself in the middle of it. And along the way, both of them find the companionship they were lacking.
Summer Nights & Security Lights is a 50k word cozy, small town M/M romance about a developing relationship between a lonely event planner and the reclusive owner of a nature reserve.
